colorful wind-up 'toy' car by ryan chapman is ready to race

or the slowball cross-country scandinavian race — a moving art exhibition where cars act as canvases and roads as museum halls — british illustrator ryan chapman has applied colorful geometries to the exterior of an all-white LADA, making it look like a pint-sized toy wind up car.

complete with a faux rotating key on its roof, the vehicle is outfitted with red, blue, yellow and green shapes of varying sizes.

the vibrant graphics have been carefully applied to the car’s outer surface in a seemingly random configuration that resembles children’s building blocks scattered on the floor. echoing his artistic and illustrative style, often seen in the pages of timeout magazine and esquire, chapman’s wind-up toy car uses a pared down color palette and regular shapes to evoke a feeling of play and pleasure.
