This Children’s Playhouse Is More Interesting Than A Lot Of Normal Houses

Remember when you were a kid and you wanted a playhouse? Well, Doherty Design Studio has raised the bar in terms of what a standard playhouse or cubby house should look like.

Designed as part of the Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show, this playhouse named Vardo Hut, was created to be auctioned off to raise money for Kids Under Cover, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to preventing youth homelessness.

The contemporary playhouse is covered in white slats with round windows and doors, making for a playful experience.

Inside there’s an upholstered bench and shelving.

There’s also a back door, which you have to be pretty small to fit through, good for keeping grown-ups out.

Near the shelving, there’s a ladder that leads you up to the loft that has a net for relaxing.

Plenty of light enters the playhouse from the curved windows on the roof.
