Lotus Square Art Center

Sales Centre

The master plan for the Lotus Square Art Center focused on achieving a minimal environmental footprint. This was accomplished in part through the use of renewable energy. The roof of the building, shaped like a fish, is planted with greenery and also collects rainwater. The exterior walls are made of so-called low-e glass, a material with a very low emission level. The generous windows ensure that natural light enters the building and also create a link between the interior and the areas outdoors.

Statement by the jury

»The design of the Lotus Square Art Center stands out because of its ecological construction method and offers an alluring interior suffused with light.«
