Design Detail – A 360º Custom Fireplace Column

Smith Designs included this custom 360º gas fireplace, at the center of this top floor open plan apartment in Canada.

The gas supply was only available through the ceiling, so a column shape became a natural choice. It was wrapped in a mirror-polished stainless steel, which reflects the surrounding views, and allows the column to blend in with everything.
