CLÉMENT BRAZILLE PAYS HOMAGE TO BERTOIA’S ICONIC CHAIRS

The French designer weaves colorful fabric into the wire frame of this classic design

Fans of Harry Bertoia’s signature metal gridwork will most likely be enthralled with the Bertoia Loom Chair, a reinterpretation of the classic design by French designer Clément Brazille. Even those wary of the chair’s lack of cushioning may be seduced by the thick strips of fabric woven through the light wire frame. The fabric creates an inviting cushion of corduroy, linen, cotton or cashmere that begs users to sink in, while offering a bespoke aesthetic that makes the classic chair (almost) new again. Brazille chose to pay tribute to Bertoia’s design for the centenary anniversary of the Italian-American designer’s birth.
