FLAME BY LUUM APPEARS SUSPENDED IN MID-AIR

A new creation from the playful British lighting design studio

London-based lighting design studio Luum presents a new light that mysteriously hovers above the floor. Within a fragile glass bubble glows a tiny white flame that gives the Flame lamp its name.

Flame is made from blown borosilicate glass, and the inner shape is blown within the bubble. The bubble is then suspended from an ultra-thin wire, giving the impression that it is floating in mid-air. A loose wire hangs from the aluminum base, accentuating the optical illusion.

Flame is available in three different sizes that can be mixed and matched or hung alone. The design was first presented at Euroluce 2015 at the Salone del Mobile in Milan.
