Soft colors and geometry define the new collection from the Dutch design duo
During Milan Design Week, Herman Miller is presenting an installation with Dutch designers Stefan Scholten and Carole Baijings of the Amsterdam-based Scholten & Baijings. Titled Lines, Blocks & Grids, the exhibition features new pieces from Herman Miller that have been upholstered in a new woven textile that was created in collaboration with the textile experts at Maharam.
The textile of grids and blocks was applied to a selection of products recently introduced to the European market by Herman Miller, including the Wireframe Sofa by Industrial Facility’s Sam Hecht and Kim Colin, the Brabo Club Chair by Vincent Van Duysen and the Tuxedo Bench by BassamFellows. Extra long pattern repeats (27.5 feet) allow each piece to appear entirely unique.
The installation will be on view at the Herman Miller National Design Center Milan’s Brera district through April 19th.
