STOCKHOLM 2015: METTE SCHELDE’S LAMP IS ITS OWN MAGNETIC SOLAR SYSTEM

Please Wait To Be Seated presents the designer’s modular Planet Lamp in Stockholm

Danish design is a veritable force with which to be reckoned. From monster brands like HAY to the newly launched Woud, Denmark is clearly rife with talent. And Danish designer Mette Schelde is one such example. Since graduating in 2012, she has already established a client list that includes the likes of Bang & Olufsen, the aforementioned HAY and Danish distributor Please Wait To Be Seated.

Please Wait To Be Seated is currently exhibiting Schelde’s Planet Lamp at the Stockholm Furniture Fair. Entirely modular, the multicolored circles connect to a central post with magnets and can thus be moved and shifted as desired. As the circles change position, their interaction with the light also changes, becoming heightened with reflection or gently dimmed. The gentle rotation becomes its own miniature universe, right in your living room. Love!
