TOM DIXON’S FACTORY AT MAISON&OBJET

The British designer brings the design production line to Maison & Objet

Maison&Objet’s Designer of the Year Tom Dixon will be presenting a selection of limited-edition scented accessories. With his installation titled “The Factory”, Dixon is adding a new level of transparency to the production process. The Factory creates a fully visible production line with live on-site production, a packaging unit and a pop-up shop.

Using materials sourced in London, four new products will be produced, boxed and then placed for sale. Raw ingredients are used to produce their specific London scent with red brick, crocuses and nettles mingling to remind visitors of the city parks.

The MUD diffuser is a wood-fire brick that is ink-stamped and hand-numbered. It comes soaked in the perfume and is sold with a refill. A miniature version is also available in different shades. The other pieces include the MUD obelisk diffuser, a porous red brick diffuser with a manganese-glazed base, and the MUD candle which contains the London scent in a cast-aluminum container with an enameled steel lid.

Tom Dixon will be presenting other new accessories as well as old favorites at Maison & Objet from September 5th to 9th in Hall 8, stand F1-G2.
