A night time solar eclipse. Darkness surrounds a ring of light, in which lies the form of a blackened sun. French designer Jean-Marie Massaud combines science and furniture with his Solar product, a Foscarini garden floor lamp. The lamp can be tilted 15 degrees and remain stable while offering various kinds of lighting, which create altered atmospheres. This hemispherical structure is made up of a waterproof and unbreakable polyethylene mold with a textured component for this exterior version. The top, flat surface allows rain to run off, leaving it quick to dry. The Solar adds personality to the outdoor environment when used to create light paths in scenic arrangements.
