Netgear has launched three new WiFi 6 routers to provide the kind of reliable internet connections that we need to keep streaming, searching, gaming and shopping online without interruption.
WiFi 6 technology is said to deliver up to four times better performance than the previous generation. This includes smoother and more reliable wireless connections throughout hyper-connected homes, allowing more devices to be used simultaneously. Plus lag and buffering are reduced during online gaming and while streaming Ultra HD 8K and 4K video.
It also doesn’t hurt that the three new Netgear devices look like they’re modelled on starfighters pulled straight from the Star Wars universe.
“WiFi 6 is the most significant change to the WiFi standard in over six years,” said David Henry, Netgear’s Senior Vice President of Connected Home Products.
“With the technology’s increased capacity and thus the capability to connect simultaneously with multiple client devices, WiFi 6 will make the world of ‘Internet of Things’ much more sustainable due to the expansive bandwidth it will deliver to a network.”
The Netgear Nighthawk AX4 is the first of the new routers, providing all the benefits of WiFi 6 at an entry-friendly price point. This router offers faster connectivity and the bandwidth to support multiple devices at the same time. The new Nighthawk AX4 WiFi 6 router is priced at RRP AUD$399.99.
The Nighthawk AX12 router supports up to an industry leading 12 WiFi streams and acts as a ‘hub’ for all the connected devices you can throw at it including phones, smart TVs and ‘Internet of Things’ products. Nighthawk AX12 is priced at AUD$799.99.
Finally. The Nighthawk AX8 combines blazing fast connection speeds with award-winning design. Recognised by both Red Dot and iF Design awards, the AX8 offers four times the device capacity of other routers, so it is both stylish and powerful enough to fit in, in any modern connected home, large or small. RRP AUD$599.99.
The new Netgear WiFi 6 routers are available now through Netgear online and at most major Australian retailers.
