The Sonoran Collection Shines a Bright Light on Weaving

We’re as antsy to spend time outdoors as you are, making the Sonoran Collection release from HOLLY HUNT all the more exciting.

Its second outdoor furniture collection draws inspiration from the topography and creature forms found in the Sonoran Desert in the southwest United States.

HOLLY HUNT worked together with a group of weavers in Southeast Asia to develop new techniques – a double weave with a vertical wrapping – and materials for a more streamlined look. The team began with hand-drawn designs rather than a digital process, then moved on to wire and twine models. The spun cord that was also developed for the weaving comes in both Fawn and Raven.

“The Sonoran collection was two years in the making, so we are thrilled to share it with our clients now,” says JoAnnah Kornak, SVP/ Executive Creative Director at HOLLY HUNT. “Much of the artisanal quality and hand-crafted techniques are disappearing around the world, so searching out, supporting and working with such talent is a true luxury.”

The collection features 15 pieces of outdoor furniture, including a sectional, lounge chairs, occasional tables, and a dining table with multiple chair options – with arms or without.
