DESIGN CRUSH: ANNA KARLIN

Heartstopping new work from a talented multidisciplinarian

Anna Karlin seems deliciously free of limitations. The British designer and art director leaves no creative discipline unexplored with work that spans from digital design to lighting and furniture. The London native moved to New York in 2010 where she eventually launched her studio. Her first collection of furnishings appeared in 2012, filled with objects that have a weighty elegance including a classic/contemporary vanity and stools shaped like chess pieces. Her latest collection made its debut at ICFF this past May with a slew of new elements including lamps, rugs and accessories.

The entire collection is handmade in New York with the exception of the Japanese textiles, which are made by master weavers in Kyoto and used to upholster the Milk Day Bed and Sling Chair, and the rugs which are woven in Turkey. Drool-worthy details abound in a symphony of textures, patterns and shapes. We are particularly smitten with the horsehair detailing found on the ultra-modern Hanging Mirror and the sophisticated swoop of the Arc Light (pictured above). Check out more of the fabulous collection below and visit Karlin’s website for more info and pricing.
