The taps as masterpiece of interior design: Diametro35 by Ritmonio for "LLL House", a private residence in Alba, CN.

LLL House – private residence

The position fits the context, as the disposition fits to contextualization.

This is the vision that led tIPS ARCHITECTS to reflect on the new internal layout of the private residence of a young entrepreneur from Cuneo. 55 square meters in a privileged position: overlooking the monumental Piazza San Paolo in Alba, near the historic center, with the profile of the Langhe hills to the east. The owner wanted the apartment to become not the main home, but a pied-à-terre in the city, which would therefore respond to needs for flexibility and varying ways of staying.

To pursue these objectives, the designers have foreseen the demolition of all the internal dividers, allocating all the possible surface to the living area: a single room that conquers all the available amplitude, defining the spatial continuity between the inside and the outside, between the living room and the lodge, between the position and the context. The portion used for living, dining and cooking is therefore equal to about half of the surface of the entire apartment: a clear division, also recognizable in the planimetric design. Which means that in a space equivalent to the living area, the entrance, the hallway and the bathroom are divided and followed.

How was the whole space optimized in a few square meters? The answer is in the design approach of tIPS ARCHITECTS, in planning the space, at the basis of an exclusive solution: the furniture is part of the project! In fact, the furniture was designed when the rooms were also designed.

The kitchen builds a volume that extends to the entrance, a single three-dimensional element; all the doors open, even the corner ones, to make the most of their capacity. One door in particular hides the passage to the sleeping area, a sort of "secret passage" through the boiserie, a masterpiece of interior design that leads to the hallway, optimized for use as a laundry and closet.

The bathroom concept starts from the preservation and "regeneration" of the existing one: the old Genoese sink, in Carrara marble, originally positioned in the kitchen, has been taken to the marble worker's laboratory, restored, cleaned and recovered. It was then placed on a custom-made piece of furniture, a sort of large easel with a temporary character such as that used by the craftsman to position the stone, engrave it and form it.

The use of glass was very usefull to the re-proportion of the space of the bathroom itself, about five meters long and one and a half wide: the mirror, in fact, doubles the width perceptually, while the glass of the shower anticipates the depth by recalibrating the length.

The taps are also an integral part of this part of the project: the choice to use Diametro35 by Ritmonio, a classic and functional collection, suitable for small spaces, but effective. With its long-lasting and beautiful look, it gives a feeling of unique and minimal refinement, in line with the owner's personality. With Ritmonio, even a small and narrow bathroom can become a true oasis of relaxation.

Material and surface need light to be revealed and in this sense the themes of the enhancement of the old and of the perceptive illusion want to evoke an exhibition space: for this reason, the lighting fixtures characteristic of a museum have been selected, that is, projectors alternating with mounted diffusers inside a single track embedded in the false ceiling.
