Precision, continuous experimentation, young and dynamic style: Diametro35 by Ritmonio reflects the design mood of this renovation of a Milanese apartment from the early twentieth century.

Casa MM

DC|EF Studio was responsible for the radical renovation and redistribution of the interior spaces of Casa MM, a 90m2 apartment in Milan.

After a debate with the client, the architects rethought the original configuration of the house from the early twentieth century according to the young and dynamic style that characterizes their approach to design. The studio dealt with all aspects of the intervention, up to the development of the furnishing details and the definition of all the architectural details necessary for the execution phase on site, combining precision and continuous experimentation.

The search for particular materials, their combination, the choice of colors and the use of light as a design element have become main characters in the definition of unique spaces, tailor-made to adequately respond to the needs and preferences of those who live there.

The rigidity of the distribution of spaces given by the spine wall was overcome by the ad hoc creation of two portals framed by flared iron structures, interspersed with a wardrobe and a custom-made bookcase, which have become a characterizing element of the entire apartment.

The living area became the priority, creating a direct connection to the kitchen and dining room which gives airiness and breath to the rooms. In the kitchen with peninsula, it was decided to use the same material for the floor, wall covering and worktop, thus creating a homogeneous material block. Iron is also found here, used for the shelves, and then recalled in the choice of black, metal and Fenix furnishings for a harmonious and coherent whole.

An extra bedroom has been created by reducing the entrance; the first passage in front allows access to both the second bathroom, located in the central area, reducing connection spaces to a minimum, and the master bedroom with walk-in closet and en-suite bathroom.

The design constant? The Diametro35 taps by Ritmonio, chosen respectively in a brushed finish for the central bathroom and black for the en suite bathroom. The clean and minimalist lines of the built-in configuration give life to solutions suited to the modernity of environments, for an ever-present style. The showering area, however, alternates transparency and comfort with the strong character of the black taps and shower profiles.
