Ritmonio solutions for an industrial conversion: the former Lima train factory becomes a home, thanks to the project by Beltramelli Interior Design Studio, capable of preserving the historical memory of the place and celebrating its industrial past.

Borgo L.I.M.A. | residential conversion of the former Lima train factory

“In my projects, I always try to respond to two of the main human needs: the aesthetic sense – or the search for harmonious beauty – and practicality, meant as the simplification of everyday life for those who live in these places”. This is the modus operandi of Carlo Beltramelli, of Beltramelli Interior Design Studio, who dealt with the reconversion and renovation project of the former Lima industrial site (Italian Metal Processing and Related Products), the famous toy train factory founded in Vicenza in 1946.

An important intervention, which was able to preserve the historical memory of the place and celebrate its industrial past, full of meaning and collective memory, of emotions and amazement that belong to everyone's imagination, that of the positive vibrations that come when you think back to childhood and the desire to receive a toy train as a gift, to play and adventure.

“This story inspired me a lot – continues Beltramelli – the intervention was complex, made up of a thousand details and facets, at times intimate. I managed to interpret the client's wishes, verifying every single choice and solution to create the dream loft."

Various ideas translated into design metaphors: the apartment is divided into seven thematic "stations", each with its own meaning, which reflects an aspect of the client's life. Each station reflects the

modern concept of living space, where functions integrate rather than remain separate.

The kitchen and banquet area are interpreted as the epicenter of food well-being and living well. The living area is sociality, relationships, up to the gym integrated into the living area. The use of semi-transparent dividers and slightly raised areas allows maintaining visual separation, without interrupting the continuity of the space. Original structural elements such as exposed beams and large windows reflect the building's past.

The environments are enriched by the presence of a gym that makes physical exercise a natural and easily accessible component of the daily routine and a glass bookcase allows you to maintain visual separation without interrupting the continuity of the space.

Cutouts in the floor and ceiling simulate tracks and rails, adding a sense of direction and movement to the space. The black steel windows and doors, reminiscent of windows on fast-moving worlds, frame the domestic landscape in a sequence of vivid and changing images, like those that follow one another beyond the glass on a train journey.

The attentive selection of colours, furnishings and materials conveys an atmosphere of subtle and measured luxury, as in the bathrooms of the sleeping area where the use of Ritmonio solutions is not just an aesthetic choice, but a deliberate expression of personality. A perfect example of how Diametro35, in the Black finish and stainless steel configurations, fits harmoniously into this frame, enhancing the industrial style with an elegant and modern touch: clean and minimalist lines, which create a sophisticated, refined and trendy look .

The new interior trends speak precisely of mixed materials, perfect to express uniqueness and identity. A stylistic imprint, the one of Ritmonio, which allows maximum customization and brings a real touch of style to bathroom environments. Just to stand out in the "station" dedicated to the well-being and purification of body and soul, where you can abandon yourself to water, a primordial and vital element, for self-care.

Versatility and determination express absolute beauty in an indissoluble union between aesthetics and functionality at the basis of the project.

Beltramelli Interior Design Studio – Bio

The studio that deals with interior architecture in residential, commercial and office settings was born some time ago, in the period in which the Bee Gees and their Saturday Night Fever reigned supreme. During all this time I have had the opportunity to experiment with my design skills outside of Italy with projects that have moved from Fifth Avenue to NY, to Beverly Hills, to London, Moscow and even China without ever losing sight of how in the case of this and other projects our wonderful territory. For us, every project is an opportunity to transform environments to make houses seem different from each other, to respect the place and context in which they are located while respecting the people who live or use them, who tell their personal history and the history of the places. We want to create homes that correspond to the soul of those who will live in them.
