Dry Digital System – The New Technology that is revolutionising the way ceramic are made.

Dry Digital System the new technology developed by Rocersa that will chanche the way we conceived ceramic tile nowadays.

DDS is the new Full Digital family of technical products developed by Rocersa in a context where there is little difference between companies and products in a market place saturated with low cost products, which are technically and aesthetically lacking.

Until now, when thinking about ceramics, we had two options: to choose a product because of its design rather than its mechanical performance features, which it lacked; or to choose a high-performance product with a standard design. Previously, only unglazed porcelain could be used with any guarantee in high traffic areas, and this came in single colours or with salt and pepper effects. With the arrival of DDS, it will no longer be necessary to renounce high-level design or the highest performing features. So, for the first time in the world of ceramics we are combining aesthetics and technique alike, without giving up anything.

DDS comes from the development of a new digital press technology where, for the first time, the Triple Synchronised Digital Load system can be put into practice in the Spanish ceramics sector.

Due to this technological development and its associated product, the synchronised DDS system, the Spanish Association of Ceramics and Glass awarded us the Alfa de Oro prize at the Cevisama 2019 trade fair.

DDS is the result of the tireless search for a product that can provide high added value with respect to others, which is difficult to copy and that will enable full advantage to be taken of the current facilities through the digitisation process during the production phase, including the pressing phase.

The basic idea is to change the concept of product development, moving from only superficial development to product development in 3D entirely developed with full digital technology. This means that the technical and aesthetic qualities of the product are greatly improved. The print of the design is no longer a superficial element as it is developed within the body of the piece, qualities which are especially valued in the CONTRACT.

The piece is manufactured in the press layer on layer, where it is possible for each layer to be made of different materials and for each to have an exclusive design.

It should be noted that the product does not contain enamel, which means it is more sustainable as it does not lead to enamel losses in industrial applications, nor does it generate sludge in cleaning processes, which then goes to a treatment plant and has to be managed as waste.

Being a Full Digital process, it is a more efficient process, where enamel and sediment losses are drastically reduced since the exact quantities are applied to the piece, part of the latter not being lost as in previous mechanical applications.

To conclude, we can say that before the arrival of DDS, ceramics had always sought to imitate other materials such as wood, stone, marble or cement. However, with Dry Digital System technology, which enables the creation of a totally natural product through the mixing of clays, these products go further and express an identity which is 100% percent their own.

DDS is now here and is going to revolutionise ceramics and the sector as we know it, bringing the latest technology to a sector which is still quite conservative.

If you want to know more about the collections, we have created with our DDS technology, Aruba, Hardwood, Illusion y Mod.
