The James Ensor Gallery, Ostend (Belgium)

The James Ensor Gallery is a hidden gem located in Ostend, Belgium, which opened its doors for the first time in 1892.

Known locally as the “Glazenstraat” or Glass Street, the gallery is covered with an elegant glass vaulted roof that provides the interior with both light and considerable charm. A major renovation of the vaulted roof was carried out in 2016 to safeguard the architectural heritage of the site.

La Rochère produced identical copies of the glass blocks for the vaulted roof, which was successfully reconstructed exactly as it had originally been built in 1945.
