Manufacturing a custom-made glass roof tile
On May 15, 2022, Zurich voters approved a loan of 22.883 million Swiss francs for the construction of the park. This park includes a covered market that can be converted into a children's playground.
The project team designed the park to be as close to nature as possible, taking into account the wishes of local residents through a participatory approach.
In 2023, architect Markus Lüscher commissioned us to manufacture a custom-made tile. More than 20,000 exclusive tiles (KohlenLager model) were manufactured and installed one by one on the roof of this covered market.
The coal storage hall offers a covered open space and a versatile meeting place in the park. Under the large glass roof made up of approximately 20,800 glass tiles, it is pleasant to be outside even in the rain.
