Ronstan Tensile Architecture recently helped launch a 10-year revitalization project of Kennedy Space Center by supplying Carbon Steel Rods for the new Rocket Garden Cafe. Now open as part of a new entry area, the cafe and plaza are only the first phase of the multi-year project designed to “enhance the guest experience” throughout the entire complex.

Designed in the retro style of the 1950s and 1960s, the Rocket Garden mimics the early days of space exploration and is surrounded by the towering Redstone, Titan and Atlas rockets. Ronstan Tensile Architecture worked with tensile fabric roofing contractor, Birdair Inc, to supply Grade 520 carbon steel rod and fork assemblies ranging from Ø M42 – Ø M90. These rods are used to tie back the Rocket Cafe’s fabric covered outdoor seating area, which provides visitors with protection from the elements and an uninterrupted view of the surrounding garden.

Birdair selected Ronstan ARS4-CSM rods for their high strength, functional connections and corrosion resistance, benefits that resound through the complete Ronstan range and are backed by 25 years of experience partnering and supporting specialist fabric contractors world-wide.

Delivered in less than three months from initial contact, each assembly was galvanized and painted to specifications and delivered on-time and on budget.
