Villa near Como
Innovative use of hewn stone texture on floor and chiselled Travertine around pool area
Italian interior designer Marco Carini chose the Salvatori stone texture Raw not only for the walls of a bathroom in a private villa near Como, Italy, but also for the floor.
“I love the idea that when you tread on it, you feel as though you’re enjoying a constant foot massage” explains the designer, who, working with architect Chicco Bestetti, chose the colour Silk Georgette® for its unique “greige” colouring and its intriguing veined effect which plays with the shifts in sunlight.
Also used was Pietra d’Avola for the fireplace, living room and stairs, whilst outside a pathway composed of slats in mixed shades of Travertine was laid. Travertine was also used for the pool area, however here the heavily chiselled finish was selected in order to provide underfoot grip.
