THE VENICE CRONORAMA
RIVUS ALTUS in 10 years 2013-2023
The video installation THE VENICE CRONORAMA – RIVUS ALTUS IN 10 YEARS was created and exhibited to the public for the first time at the Fondaco dei Tedeschi in Venice, from February 7 to April 7, 2024, as part of the exhibition celebrating the 10th anniversary of Max Farina's photographic project RIVUS ALTUS. The video installation consisted of 78 monitors (almost 6 meters long), combined to form a multitude of images where the viewing experience relies on a variable and almost infinitely modifiable montage of the various separate pieces that make up a perfect yet unstable, fascinating and changing landscape: simultaneously night and day, dawn and sunset... Over 10,000 shots, akin to a puzzle, where the images no longer capture a specific moment but instead become a perspective traced by the passage of time.
Visually impactful, this type of work is well-suited to decorate common spaces such as hotel lobbies and waiting rooms; it can be customized by choosing the number of monitors, and thus the size of the entire installation. This large photo mosaic is capable of transforming any location into a kaleidoscope of images in which the guest/viewer can immerse themselves.
Like Venice, cities such as New York, Milan, Paris, Los Angeles, Lake Maggiore, and many others with equally iconic viewpoints can become not just a decorative object but a true multimedia art installation capable of encapsulating the concepts of art, architecture, and design.
