Mémora ‘Sancho de Ávila' in Barcelone, projected by JF Architects, has recently completed a significant renovation for which they have counted on SELLEX, choosing AERO Bench, designed by Lievore Altherr Molina.
The investment in this re-building has been of 14 million euros, enabling to convert one of the oldest funeral homes in Spain into one of the most modern ones. ‘Mémora Sancho de Avila' ‘s new premises occupy a surface of over 10.000 sqm and accommodate 20 visiting rooms, 3 praying zones, terraces, flowers shop, coffee-shop, restaurant and offices for the attention to the families.
Besides, energetic efficiengy resources have been installed which will save C02 emissions between 45 and 50%, as well as a system to recover rainwater, enabling a variable watering and reducing water consume. A light controller device has also been provided so it will reduce lighting and energetic pollution
For SELLEX, it is a privilege to be part of this type of installations: funeral homes innovating space concept and leadering its sector.
AERO and VACANTE in Mémora
It is not the first time that Mémora Funeral Home Group trust SELLEX's benches as seating for their funeral homes and visiting rooms. In fact, we will find AERO Bench in the chapels of some of their funeral homes, like the one in Errenteria (Basque Country) or those of Collserola and Les Corts, in Barcelone.
Another design we will see at the funeral homes of Mémora Group is VACANTE Bench, a suitable seating for this kind of facilities as it can be provided with a kneeler as accessory. This model has been placed in the funeral homes of Torroella de Montgri and L'Hospitalet, among others.
