Czech MICROOFFICE is taking the open-plan office world by storm and winning international awards

Archiproducts Design Awards, German Design Award, BigSee award and Good Design Award for SilentLAb

Minimalist, functional design and high-performance ventilation are winning accolades – and office furniture design awards – for SilentLab’s MICROFFICE. This year they won the Archiproducts Design Awards, German Design Award, BigSee award and Good design award.

The German Design Award is a prestigious international competition that recognizes major contributions to product design and communication each year. Competing against several thousand products in the competition, the MICROOFFICE PRIME and MICROOFFICE UNIQ won Special Mention in the category Excellent Product Design. “It is important to have a space available where you can talk without interruption and focus on work, especially in open-plan offices,” the jury noted. They also noted the highly elegant and minimalist design in both MICROOFFICE versions, thanks to which MICROOFFICE fits seamlessly into modern offices.

The MICROOFFICE QUADRIO I won the Archiproducts Design Awards as well as this year’s BigSee Award. The Archiproducts Design Awards are given out by Archiproducts, a search engine for architecture and design products from around the world.

“MICROOFFICE forms the core of our product portfolio and we worked with top-notch architects, acoustics specialists and ventilation experts to develop it. We are extremely proud that three of our products stood out among such strong competition from around the world,” comments Jaroslav Vendl, co-founder of SilentLab, on his feelings about the recognition. “Besides being a point of pride, this means incredibly valuable new contacts for us as well. Many foreign architects and designers use the Archiproducts catalogue, for instance. Being part of this community allows us to reach a much wider range of potential partners,” adds Jan Kaňka, another co-founder.

The latest award came from the Good Design Awards, which have been awarded by the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design since 1950 for products with innovative industrial, product and graphic designs. The jury for this prestigious award took an interest in two SilentLab products, the MICROOFFICE PRIME and QUADRIO I, in the Furniture category. The other winners included brands like Ferrari, Philips, Zaha Hadid Design and Helly Hansen.

“I’m delighted that Czech MICROOFFICES took their place among the top global design products last year and won a number of international awards,” comments Jaroslav Vendl, one of the founders of SilentLab, adding, “2020 was an unusual year in many respects, so we appreciate the recognition even more. We perceive them as a reward for our past work, driving force for our current work, and responsibility for the future.”
