“LIGHT OF OTHER WORLDS- Stations of Light”

Salone del Mobile 2017: Slamp presents a performance produced and directed by Robert Wilson

“Light is the most important element in creating space. It should always be the starting point and the finality of architecture, whether exterior or interior. Light is what creates the worlds we live in, whether on the street, in the theater, in a restaurant, or in your dining room. It is what gives our environment special character. Paris is a beautiful city because of light. Roman light is unique, as is that of Greece, San Francisco, and Texas. And SLAMP lamps are unique in this way.” Robert WIlson

Wilson, who has been defined by the New York Times as the world’s foremost avant-garde producer, used these words to describe the design concept he created for Slamp’s stand at the Salone del Mobile, this April 4th through 9th in Milan’s Fiera Rho. Slamp was founded in Rome by Roberto Ziliani in 1994.

“LIGHT OF OTHER WORLDS” is a flux of transportive stations, each a unique, intimate perspective of our newest lighting collections. This year’s Euroluce is the perfect moment to unveil fresh, exciting collaborations, exhibiting contemporary shapes and decorations, as well as innovative revisitations and extensions of some of our most successful and iconic design projects.

We have prepared narratives on our official website for each of our designers - Daniel Libeskind, Studio Job, Lorenza Bozzoli, Analogia Project, Zaha Hadid, Robert Wilson, Adriano Rachele, Doriana e Massimiliano Fuksas, Elisa Giovannoni, Zanini De Zanine, Pantone/Pavoncello - that explain their approach as well as the role light plays in their everyday life, their personal experiences, and how they create space. Slamp’s journey continues throughout creative director Luca Mazza’s latest catalogue, capturing the Italian brand’s original and aspirational collections. Mazza loves to photograph the magical encounter of light and architecture during his travels, and has transformed interiors into backdrops, creating large-scale, poetic and suggestive images.

Slamp’s collections are handcrafted of patented technopolymers. New York, Berlin, Seoul, and Paris; all hosts for lamps that offer unique perspectives able to redesign borders and the perception of the objects they cross paths with. The collections make humans the focal point of any space, evoking emotional, aesthetically moving atmospheres that inspire serenity.
