The city which rides a wave

Modern design benches for public spaces

There was a crowded car park – now there is a nature and relax zone. In one of the Polish cities, Opole, new kind of space, full of greenery and functional elements was created. Wavy urban benches and big pots with plenty of plants add a lot of charm to the place! More and more European cities follow the nature-inspired trend. In crowded car parks or ordinary, forgotten wastelands, new places for relaxation and rest among nature are created. Although some space for vehicles are undeniably needed, people and their mental as well as physical health should always go first.

The green corner appeared on the initiative of the Municipal Road Administration in Opole in May 2019. It is situated in the northern part of the market square, in front of the Town Hall. Before, there was a car park and now, there is a wooden platform with urban furniture.

Among new decorations, large urban Gianto pots and unique Wave benches in a shape of a wave appeared. Interestingly, the seats are integrated with the plant containers providing even more greenery to this place. In this way, the created composition pleases one’s eyes, not only with stylish colors but also with a unique form and floral accents.

Large urban pots in a few shades of trendy anthracite have been planted, among others, with decorative grasses and miniature trees. Steel seats of the urban bench in a shape of a wave “snakes” between containers, creating an amazing visual effect. All of it makes the new zone of relaxation functional but also fully compatible with the latest trends – minimalism and a simple form can look really good!
