Conceived as a bridge between academic life and wellness , Duke University’s Student Health and Wellness Center in Durham, North Carolina extends its clean, modern lines with the utmost respect for its historic environment.
Nothing was left to chance in this project entirely designed to provide a friendly and welcoming place for students. Chosen to echo the adjacent existing buildings, the terracotta is interpreted in a very contemporary and graphic way: a compact arrangement, light gray and gray storm, and horizontal laying in which the Piterak® XS reveal their modernity without betraying the marked architectural context of the campus. The use of Autan® XL baguettes dress-up large glazed spaces to protect the building from heat while making the most of the light.
