Trex Takes The Golden Hammer

WINCHESTER, Va., April 27, 2015 – Trex Company has “hammered” the competition yet again! In an awards season already filled with honors for the world''s largest manufacturer of wood-alternative decking and railing, Trex was most recently lauded as the winner of the Golden Hammer Award. Presented by Hardware + Building Supplier magazine, the awards are based on the publication''s annual survey of retailers and distributors who were asked to identify the brand that offers the most outstanding benefits for their business. Based on the survey results, Trex earned first place in the decking category.

In recent months, Trex has received accolades from virtually every aspect of the building industry. In April, Trex took top honors in the decking products category of the Green Builder Media 2015 Reader''s Choice Awards, for the fourth year running. The company also captured three 2015 ADEX Platinum and three ADEX Gold Awards from architects and designers for its high-performance outdoor living products, and swept the Builder 2015 Brand Use Study, in which Trex was ranked by building professionals as the brand of choice in all four categories for composite decking, including quality and brand used most often.

“With support from designers, architects, builders, retailers and distributors – the choice for high-performance outdoor living products is clearly Trex,” said Ronald W. Kaplan, chairman, president and CEO of Trex. “These awards speak to the momentum of the Trex® brand and reinforce the positive professional and consumer feedback we''ve received since our 2014 transition to all high-performance products and expansion of our product portfolio.”

The 2015 Golden Hammer Awards, now in its 31st year, will be presented during a ceremony held next month at the National Hardware Show. More than 200 retailers, dealers, wholesalers and distributors voted via an online ballot to select the top supplier from each of 32 product categories. Golden Hammer Award criteria include category management, inventory management, new product innovation, quality control and service to the trade.

Based in Winchester, Virginia, Trex invented the composite decking category more than 20 years ago and continues to lead the market in both sales and share. Trex currently is stocked in 43 countries and in more than 6,700 retail locations worldwide. For more information about Trex products, visit trex.com.
