Before winter takes hold

Balconies and terraces are at the mercy of the weather all year round due to their exposed location. When cracks, loose tiles or moisture damage begin to appear on the exterior covering, it's time for a professional refurbishment. This is the only way to prevent moisture from penetrating further in the colder months, damaging the structure and possibly resulting in you having to remove the existing covering. Triflex, the specialist in liquid applied waterproofing, offers the balcony uncoupling system Triflex ProDrain for saturated substrates.

When refurbishing with this special solution, existing coverings can generally be left in-situ, which eliminates the noise and rubble that removal would entail. Moisture can escape thanks to the Triflex DC-MAT uncoupling membrane. The membrane has ventilation channels on its underside, via which water can disperse in the form of water vapour. Thus, removal of the existing covering is not necessary, even if the moisture content of the substrate exceeds six percent by weight. Since the uncoupling membrane eliminates the time-consuming task of laying a screed, and the resins used are fast-curing, the application time is shorter. In addition, thanks to the layer thickness of approx. one centimetre, the system is also compatible with door elements with low junction heights.

Triflex ProDrain withstands mechanical loads and thus provides a durable surface for balconies and terraces. The simple system uses quick-curing resins, allowing for extremely short closure times. This makes it possible to complete even the most difficult refurbishments quickly, safely and professionally, saving time and expense in the process. As a result, balcony and terrace floors withstand the effects of weather long-term, which extends their life. The easy-care balcony waterproofing system Triflex BTS-P completes the uncoupling system.
