With Unopiù “Black Friday” becomes “GREEN”

The project “Green Friday Unopiù”, developed in collaboration with Treedom, will create a Unopiù forest in Cameroon

For more than forty years, Unopiù has been creating outdoor furniture, elements and structures, giving everybody the chance to enjoy the out-doors, by relishing the nature and its precious beauty. Unopiù functional, complete and refined solutions converse in perfect harmony with their sur-rounding natural environment which represents not only a proper scenery for Unopiù design proposals but at the same time it completes them.

For Unopiù, the love for nature is a founding reason and a daily mission as well as the essence of the living and the time spent outdoors.

For the company, the environmental protection starts not only from the use of teak wood coming from certified plantations, but today even from the creation of the Unopiù forest in Cameroon in collaboration with Treedom. This defined project, made of 200 cocoa trees, aims to give birth to other forests in the years to come.

In November, during the Black Friday’s days, the company promotes a special “Green Friday Unopiù”, giving a cocoa tree to all those cus-tomers which will spend more than 1000 euros in its stores or on Unopiù e-commerce websites. The entire communication process, from the newsletter to the stores’ windows, will have a brand-new look in the name of “Green Friday Unopiù”.

Depending on where the purchase is done, the customers will be given a card or a code to register on Treedom website and receive their tree. Each tree has its own online page, is geo-located and the customer can follow its story through continuous updates and photos.

Since Treedom foundation, which took place in Florence in 2010, more than 1.000.000 trees have been planted in Africa, South America, Asia and Italy. All the trees are directly planted by local farmers, thus contributing to gener-ate environmental, social and economic benefits.

Unopiù has decided to join the Treedom project and to create the Unopiù forest to value with a concrete action the protection of the envi-ronment which plays a key role for its products, being the chosen scenery to host them. The Unopiù forest in Cameroon represents a small but real contribution to fight the CO2 emissions and to help the small local economies enhancement.
