Edgar Velasco, R-Zero
Thanks to their low porosity and low water absorption rate, URBATEK through-body porcelain tiles are ideal for use in settings with a high degree of environmental humidity, like this spa situated onAcapulco beach inMexico.
The project in question was designed by Edgar Velasco, a Mexican architect and founder of architects’ studio R-Zero. The studio stands out for its avant-garde projects synonymous with clear-cut, straight lines and materials with a natural cement look where a hint of the industrial is evident.
For this project, 59.6x29.7 and 59.6x9.7cm high-performance through-body GREY URBATEK floor tiles from the AVENUE series were chosen in a NATURE and TEXTURE finish, since they have just the right characteristics for rooms of this kind where resistant, hygienic, long-lasting floor tiles are needed with a surface that guarantees a safe grip even if it is wet. The TEXTURE finish is particularly suitable when there is a risk of users slipping over because the floors easily get wet, as is the case of rooms with jacuzzis or showers.
For the walls, two products by Porcelanosa Group were also chosen, in this case from the PEARLS and CRISTAL collections by VENIS, both in WHITE as a colour contrast with the grey floor tiles.
