The main premise behind the design of “Pulcini Lab” was to create a stylish medical centre far removed from conventional impersonal ones. In architect Giorgio Cartas hands, a totally unique clinic was created.
Given the need for functionality and materials suitable for a medical centre subject to high pedestrian traffic, the marble-effect SOUL porcelain tile collection was chosen to create a contrast with its avant-garde linear lighting.
The white marble-effect SOUL Frost model was used throughout to link up the centre’s different rooms, matched with the elegant tobacco-coloured SOUL Stone model.
Any impersonality was avoided in the design of the waiting rooms, medical surgeries, cubicles and toilets, particularly through the use of decorative wall coverings like the Harmony Strip Coltan glass mosaics by L’Antic Colonial, Menorca Hojas Blanco tiles by Porcelanosa, and Bluebell White, Suede White Matt and Liz White tile series by Venis.
As for the floors, a special mention must be made of the medical centre ‘s logo, inset in the marble flooring, with four lines departing from each of its vertexes and running along the corridors of the clinic. On the walls, the mirror-like shine of the glossy SOUL porcelain tile model creates amazing reflective interplay.
