UNM (You and Me) - News Salone del Mobile in Milan

What thearchitect needs is a work unit that fits like a Chanel. “A classic that isn''t garish but contemporary to its context” says Nina Graziosi, the in The Hague based interior architect. Graziosi noticed a great amiss when designing large-scale office projects and in collaboration with Lensvelt devised a list of thirteen requirements by which the ideal workstations needed to adhere. Hereafter followed the development and production of UNM (pronounced as ‘You and Me''). And the result.. will be presented at the Zone Tortona during the Salone del Mobile in Milan.

UNM is unique in the technology by which the worktops are adjustable in height. In almost every other system that is currently available the technology is built in either the legs or side panels of the desks. With UNM this technology has been placed in a horizontal band around the desktop, maintaining a sleek look. Graziosi – a born Italian – calls this part La Macchina (machinery).

An additional perk for material fetishists is the countless options UNM has to offer through the application of different finishing materials on the side panels and the horizontal band. Whether it is marble, copper, felt or even transparent polyester: all of these can be applied, thus creatively fine-tuning this extraordinary workstation system.

Design: Nina Graziosi (2015).
