Châtelet-Les-Halles and its new glass metro window

2018 sees the world's largest metro station, Châtelet-Les-Halles, change its skin.

Welcoming more than 750,000 travellers a day, it is a key part of the Parisian underground. A place of passage, a meeting place, an emblematic place.

The new icon of the Parisian metro, this curved tile evokes the perpetual and captivating movement of a wave. Its padded effect, its depth and its coating reflect an enveloping and changing light for a dynamic and elegant look.

This tile, the result of a collaboration with the architects Patrick Berger and Jacques Anziutti, who designed the Canopée, reinterprets the magic of glass, its transparency and lightness by adding balanced and coloured curves for a unique luminous vibrancy.

The curvature of the front is different from that of the back for a very chic capiton effect.

This contemporary and modern creation reinvents the traditional metro tile while preserving its original proportions.
