Therefore, Le Voyages A Nantes, in charge of the cultural promotion in Nantes urban space, initiates renovation of those stripes to re-embellish the work and give it back its sense and purpose, as well as reinforce these white lines'' strong character on the long run.

After a rich and successful collaboration with Via Composites on the “Claustra polychrome” from Tours train station in 2012, Daniel BUREN praises composite materials and recommends Via Composites for the renovation of its work.

In 2014, Via Composites restored the white stripes of the 18 rings. The rings restoration works were conducted according to a very precise artistic and aesthetic will with strict designing demands and specific material choices, in terms of sustainability to prevent vandalism and resistance to outside weather conditions (wind, rain, sun exposure, sea air). Glass and resin composites were the perfectly fitting solution.

Via Composites made sure to bring very special care to all 18 rings'' finishing touches and assembling.

The white stripes were made by pultrusion.
