CopperPlus - Function meets copper optics
Newly built hospital Acıbadem Altunizade in Istanbul relies on advantages of CopperPlus
The Acıbadem Altunizade Hospital in Istanbul, the 22nd hospital of the Cıbadem Health Group, opened its doors in March 2017. The Acıbadem Altunizade Hospital has a covered area of 95,000 with another 17,000 square meters of land. The design and construction of a fully-equipped 250-bed hospital was completed by the Acibadem Group, and the project is nominated for Gold certification in the LEED Healthcare category.
CopperPlus was used at the front of the building. CopperPlus, cladding composite made out of Copper-Stainless Steel-Copper, is used in architecture both as a roofing and cladding material. In the project, CopperPlus was applied to the classical stapling system in various field widths, the so-called bar code system. The long life of copper, the need for maintenance and thus the low cost of ownership was one of the main reasons why the project was preferred. On the other hand, the planned shapes could be perfectly implemented. CopperPlus can easily accept all shapes in flat, curved, concave, convex, conical, dome-shaped coverings. The product is also characterized by its superior performance and low cost.
