Redesign of the public square located on the underground garage roof
As part of the redesign of the entire Adeje promenade in Santa Cruz de Tenerife the public square located on the underground garage roof has been modernized, too. Large shady pergolas and circular flower beds of various sizes, which are distributed all over the place like bubbles in water transform this public square into a unique urban space providing areas to relax and to play and creating a relationship between the beach, the city, the shopping areas and the landscape connecting these areas smoothly with each other. The construction of the dome-shaped planting beds on the one hand required a lightweight build-up in order to avoid a further ballast for the existing base, and on the other hand demanded a low build-up height, in order to have more space for substrate and plants. Given these requirements and the pitched surface of the planting beds, the ZinCo system build-up “Pitched roof” was chosen as a perfect solution to meet these demands.
