With Gerhard Harand About the Trends in Residential Projects in Vienna

The capital city of Austria is a centre of exclusive architecture, a fact which is also seen in its residential projects. One such luxury residential project, called “Uber den Linden”, has been built in the prestigious 7th District.

In another edition of Speakers Corner, we interviewed Gerhard Harand from Werhahn. This company won the contract to supply our access control solutions for the project, specifically the 2N® IP Verso intercoms and 2N® Indoor Compact and 2N® Indoor Touch 2.0 answering units.

Much been written about Vienna being a cradle for typical European architecture. Contemporary architects, however, are building on this longstanding tradition with their own new projects. This is why they are designing buildings for the city centre with typical Viennese architecture yet modern features. We asked Gerhard Harand what the main trends were and what made Viennese architecture so distinct. The award-winning design of 2N units also played a major role in the choice of door communicators for this project and was one of the main reasons why our solution was selected.

2N® Indoor Compact units were selected for standard apartments and the 2N® Indoor Touch 2.0 for more luxurious penthouses, mainly due to the possibility of using the units to control home automation.
