Voorlinden Museum & Gardens
Museum / Outdoor - Indoor / Wassenaar / Amsterdam / Paesi Bassi
High-tech structures and elegant materials: just as an excellent movie, there are many elements able to originate a really outstanding project, especially when the director goes beyond any expectations in leading the work. That's how the Museum Voorlinden in Wassenaar (the Netherlands) was born, making it among the most prestigious protagonists of both national and international art scenarios.
We conceived it with Studiomilani based in Siena, Italy, for housing a noteworthy collection of contemporary art with pieces from all over the world.
Considering it from outside, the museum strikes for its structures, which owes a lot to contemporary architecture's inspiration.
But what really stands out is the elegance brought by the outdoor material: we applied big Moonlight travertine slabs to the rainscreen erected with Fischer's structures, which were able to guarantee a more effective thermal insulation and perspiration of the building.
We also provided the waterproofing service and the laying of the Moka-travertine pavement, which was also installed indoors in the restrooms for its dark but yet highly fascinating hues.
