BLACK PELICAN GROUP

“The story of Black Pelican began with a need. A need to find high quality bathroom solutions in Nigeria for a family home. A need to create a place of refuge for a young couple and their growing children”

The story of Black Pelican Group (Nigeria) results from a real need for high-quality bathroom furniture solutions. This search has driven the founders of the company to discover and highlight a significant gap in the Nigerian market, where the supply of high-quality products was limited, forcing consumers to resort to local markets with lower-quality products or to turn to abroad suppliers.

Black Pelican was therefore conceived to fill this void, offering high-quality products and professional service to customers seeking superior solutions to furnish their homes.

The renovation of the headquarters of the company included the ground floor and floors from 1 to 4, where Atena metal ceiling systems were installed to create elegant and modern structures in the showrooms, corridors and transit areas.

Characterised by 100x30x100 mm elements, the Atena Baffle system, was used for the showroom area dedicated to tiles and bathroom furniture. The baffles are made of 5/10 thick pre-painted steel, in the standard white colour, with a smooth surface. This finissage, combined with the variable length of the elements, contributes to the spaciousness of the showroom and enhances the overall visual experience for visitors.

The reception area, located on the ground floor and designed to welcome visitors, has been aesthetically enhanced by the installation of Atena Enigma clip-in panels. These elements, measuring 600×600 mm with a right angle, are made of 316 BR stainless steel with a thickness of 6/10. The unique feature of these panels is the hammered finissage called “water effect”, a technique that imitates the appearance of the slight ripples that form on the surface of water. This special metalwork gives the surface a unique tactile texture and creates a complex and refined play of light reflections that have the optical effect of expanding the perception of space, making rooms appear larger.

The bar corner and the offices has been equipped with Atena 15 Linear Design system with 600×600 mm panels, right-angled, 9 mm lowered, in 5/10 pre-painted steel. The chosen colour, standard white, is enriched by the AP 1.8/19% P perforation with thermo-applied black tissue, which improves sound intelligibility in the rooms. This white colour is contrasted by the black Easy B15 structure.

The transition zones between the different floors are equipped with Atena Metal Modular 15 Linear Design 600×600 mm panels, 9 mm lowered, right-angled, made of 5/10 pre-painted steel with a standard silver finishing. The special feature of the panels is the ‘Quasar’ random perforation, which provides visual continuity to the pattern.

Atena Sliding Baffle system was chosen for the corridors on the fourth floor using 10/10 steel TS sliding carriers in black colour on both sides. The Atena Sliding Baffle range is an ideal solution for metal ceilings that require frequent access to the plenum or the systems above. The special feature of these Baffles is the digitally printed surface. A dark brown wave has been in fact reproduced on the baffles that runs the length of the light-coloured elements, creating a visual continuity and simulating dynamism and movement.
