BRNO RAILWAY STATION - Czech Republic
Atena panels and systems are exceptionally versatile, offering designers the freedom to create a distinctive and visually striking stylistic identity in any architectural context.
Strategically located on the line connecting Brno to Kutná Hora, Brno-Královo Pole railway station is an essential link of the Czech Republic's transport infrastructure. A recent renovation project has transformed the existing structure into a model of contemporary excellence, incorporating technological and architectural innovations designed to improve the travel experience.
Spread across two levels, the station interior design seamlessly blends contemporary aesthetics and functionality. The project's distinctive character is shaped by the installation of Atena metal ceiling systems.
The interior is characterised by S-Series linear staves and 7/10 pre-painted aluminium baffles in the vibrant RAL 2001 “Red Orange” colour. This compelling reddish-orange shade gives the space an iconic identity and interacts dynamically with the natural light from the large perimeter glass walls, creating a welcoming and modern atmosphere.
The installation specifically features S-Series 150h30 mm staves with AD1.5/22% D perforation and plain 30h150 mm baffles with a 120 mm gap.
In terms of managing covered outdoor areas designated for passenger transit, the Atena Matrox system was favoured for its formal rigour, stability and durability, making it ideal for such contexts. The intervention involved using 10/10 galvanised steel rectangular panels with different dimensions to adapt to the geometry of the spaces, adding dynamism to the surfaces while ensuring high resistance to external stresses. The smooth, white, post-painted finish of the Matrox panels provides brightness and a sense of space, improving the overall architectural design.
