BERA RailFix, installed in Nieuwegein City (Utrecht - The Netherlands)

Make more for greener cities.

The Province of Utrecht, known for its Green and Sustainable approach, especially when it comes to public transport and mobility, decided after careful evaluations to replace grassed tram tracks, initially as a pilot project located in the city centre of Nieuwegein. This city is a vibrant community full of young people appreciating efficient and effective mobility, by commuting to work, school and leisure.

The BERA RailFix covered with a layer of high quality and diverse species of sedum, will now ensure biodiversity, virtually no more maintenance and high capture of fine dust, noise reduction while rainwater retention and drainage is optimized. And should someone, by mistake, drive on it by car, they will not get stuck.

No more interruptions for mowing, and above all the sedums will colour beautifully during the seasons of the year.
