Subject: Installation and use, since November 2022, of a device treating rising damp: I.P.E 62 by BFL International, at the French Embassy in Prague.
In November 2022, an electromagnetic polarity inverter, I.P.E 62, was installed in the premises of the French Embassy in the Czech Republic by BFL International, a company specializing in humidity treatment.
The Buquoy Palace, a jewel of French heritage in the Czech Republic and the seat of the French Embassy since 1919, consists of a set of buildings, some dating back to the 17th century. Built near Charles Bridge, on the left bank of the Vltava River, they are characterized by their thick walls and the diversity of materials used, as well as the multiple transformations and restorations carried out over the years. The proximity to the river, along with the harsh Prague winters, necessitates constant vigilance regarding humidity.
The installation of the I.P.E 62 unit was simple and did not require any construction work. It was placed on a particularly thick and damp stable wall, in which an old drinking trough is embedded.
A first assessment, after seven months of use, already showed satisfactory results.
After one year and three months of use, this observation has been confirmed: the treated wall is dry, and its coating remains intact.
I hereby certify that the use of the I.P.E 62 provided by BFL International has been entirely satisfactory. Moreover, we are considering extending its use to other areas of the Embassy.
Done in Prague, on February 7, 2025.
Delphine VIDAL
Deputy Secretary of the Embassy
