Twix by Déco clads the new Techbau headquarters
A building of contemporary architecture in which wood, mirrors and nature converse
Innovation, quality, robustness and aesthetic effect are the mainstays of Déco products chosen for major projects such as the new Techbau headquarters in Castelletto Ticino on Lake Maggiore, Italy, which is designed to blend into its environment in terms of both appearance and choice of materials.
The headquarters of the engineering and construction company was designed by Piuarch and built on a pile-based structure conceived to showcase the views, the lake, the woods and the very spirit of the location.
The facade is clad in modular Twix by Déco panels with slatted effect, made in UltraShield® by Déco composite wood, and also features large mirrored surfaces. Two different materials in a dialogue, to minimise the building's environmental impact and place it harmoniously in its setting.
The Twix by Déco cladding is installed on walls and ceilings in part of the upper level of the building; thanks to its slatted design featuring three parallel elements, it helps to decrease reverberation, thus improving the acoustics of the rooms.
Twix by Déco is just one of a family of products made in UltraShield® by Déco, the firm's state-of-the-art wood composite, which includes a series of innovative, high-performance solutions: outdoor flooring, cladding for facades, sun awnings and interior/exterior solutions such as Twix by Déco.
All the products in UltraShield® by Déco have similar characteristics: a unique combination of innovation, quality, robustness and aesthetics. A special plastic shield, extruded alongside the core product mix, coats and protects the slat, leaving it durable, unaffected by fading over time and with incomparable resistance to scratches and stains.
Products in the line are guaranteed for 25 years after installation, need no maintenance and can withstand any kind of natural, environmental or chemical aggression.
In accordance with the company philosophy, Twix by Déco and the other products in UltraShield® by Déco are environmentally sustainable: the wood flour used to make it comes from recycled shavings and therefore has zero impact on deforestation, and the HDPE (high-density polyethylene) component is a totally biodegradable substitute for PVC.
