Gwyn Hall - Contemporary Arts in the heart of Neath Town Centre
The Gwyn Hall is located in the heart of Neath Town Centre, known for its great sights including the Victoria Gardens, and has been an integral part of Neath’s history since it was built in 1887. Re-opened in March 2012 after an extensive refurbishment, the Gwyn Hall is one of the most versatile contemporary arts and entertainment centres in the area.
The venue operates seven days a week and features a theater with a seating capacity of 384. It offers a diverse and high-quality programming schedule, including musical performances, theatrical productions, children's shows, aerial theater, and dance events. Furthermore, the venue serves as a first-release cinema with three distinct screens, showcasing the latest films as well as highly sought-after screenings of National Theatre Live and Royal Opera House productions.
Cinema Renovation
In 2024, Celtic Leisure, a not-for-profit leisure trust that operates the Gwyn Hall and several other leisure centers, decided to renovate one of its cinema rooms. As part of this renovation, new seating was installed in Gwyn Hall's cinema POD. Ferco outfitted the space with 71 seats of Paragon 755 tip-up, complete with cup holders, arranged in a tiered structure. Additionally, two DDA (Disability Discrimination Act) spaces were created in the first row to enhance the room's inclusivity.
Key Benefits Achieved for the client
Maximum comfort: The model Paragon 755 has been designed according to ergonomic canons, with lumbar support and an adjusted seat-back angle, taking comfort to a higher level.
Durable Seating: The Paragon 755 seats provide strong, long-lasting performance. With the added ¾ laminated outer back, we ensure that the cinema remains a premier space for years to come.
Enhanced features: The enhancement of row lettering through the incorporation of lighting not only imparts a distinctive character to the room but also contributes to the overall functionality of the space.
UK suppliers: The fabric employed in Gwyn Hall Cinema is Ambla New Richmond, a vinyl-coated material produced in the United Kingdom. This fabric is characterized by its high quality and durability, ensuring longevity in performance and appearance.
