“,Plastic Second Life”: the environmental certification of Rollcable Grey

“,Plastic Second Life” is a voluntary environmental product certification dedicated to products obtained from the recycling of plastic waste from separate waste collection

The Environment criteria of the sustainability strategy of FITT provides for investing in research and innovation of processes and products in order to reduce environmental impact, therefore creating synergy within its own value chain.

One of the ways in which FITT achieves this, is through the use of post-consumer material, as in the case of the double-walled HDPE corrugated pipe Rollcable Grey, which has been awarded the “,Plastic Second Life” certification by the Institute for the Promotion of Recycled Plastics (IPPR).

“,Plastic Second Life” is a voluntary environmental product certification dedicated to products obtained from the recycling of plastic waste from separate waste collection, and therefore from industrial waste.

The work for obtaining the certification was carried out by Kiwa Cermet Italia, a partner of IPPR and accredited by Accredia, which makes this certification objective, accessible and impartial, in line with the standards of PolyCert Europe (a European technical platform for the harmonisation of existing certification schemes relating to the use of circular raw materials by polymeric material processors in Europe following the best production standards).

The conformity certification issued by Kiwa Cermet Italia guarantees compliance with the UNI 10667 sector technical standards, applying the concept of traceability and calculating content in accordance with the UNI EN ISO 14021 standard.

Rollcable Grey is 75% recycled content certified.

“,Plastic Second Life” is the first Italian and European marking dedicated to recycled plastic, resulting from the need to make products obtained from recycled plastics destined for Public Administrations, large-scale retailers and private citizens easily identifiable and more visible.
