Aquila Capital
Renewable energy
The Aquila Capital project was quite challenging. Mafalda Carvalho, Architect at DONE, Design to Build, emphasises that "this project was very challenging. There was a great need to explore what had already been implemented, while also innovating, creating solutions in line with the biggest trend of our time, which is to prioritise employees and their well-being."
DONE Design to Build created a detailed and sustainable office space, focusing on employee well-being. The project aimed to create an environment where employee well-being was a key factor. To achieve this, the entire design is centred around a bar and lounge area, a meeting point for the team to socialise and relax. Likewise, a rest room was designed, allowing employees to take short breaks during the day to recharge. This room was purposefully painted blue, has a device for the employee to listen to their preferred music, and is decorated with constellations made of light points. The constellation that stands out most is, of course, Aquila.
Aquila Capital is a global renewable energy company, which opened its first office in Portugal in the Semapa building, in central Lisbon, near Marquês de Pombal.
The architectural challenge of this project was to create a space that reflected a company in constant expansion, characterised by teamwork. At the same time, the office design aimed to promote multidisciplinarity and enhance the company’s future growth in the national market.
The architectural solution adopted a clean and contemporary language, with office spaces unfolding along corridors highlighted by vegetation and corners for collaborative zones. Sustainability was also a key aspect of the fit-out, with the use of national and sustainable materials, including cork flooring and eco-friendly fabrics for the furniture.
