Project description:

Casa Emma is a prestigious winery nestled in the heart of Chianti Classico, located in San Donato in Poggio (Barberino Tavarnelle). Surrounded by 28 hectares of vineyards and 1,000 olive trees, the estate grows Sangiovese, Merlot, Ciliegiolo, and Malvasia Nera grapes, offering a striking landscape that changes with the seasons.

In this setting of timeless charm, Casa Emma sought KE’s expertise for a terrace expansion project that would harmonize with the estate’s rural and distinctive environment, perched in a natural amphitheater with panoramic views, inviting moments of tranquility and serenity.

The client’s need was to create protected spaces where guests could enjoy the winery’s offerings while tasting culinary delights. Through personalized consultation with KE Store Tecnotenda, a custom solution was designed. To enhance the surrounding space while providing shelter from the sun and weather, the A100 Star aluminum pergola was chosen for its perfect blend of elegance, design, flexibility, and modularity.

The A100 Star features a retractable fabric roof that moves horizontally on runners, offering both sun shading and protection from the elements. Three modules were installed, covering a total area of 105 sqm. One of the pergolas was complemented by Line Glass sliding glass panels. These panoramic glass systems allow for the perimeter closure of the pergolas while maintaining an unobstructed view of the landscape. The glass panels are anchored on low-profile aluminum tracks (just 18 mm high) and can slide both left and right to provide protection without compromising the expansive views.

To ensure seamless integration with the stone structure and surrounding natural beauty, the pergolas were finished in a Corten color, evoking the rich earth tones of the vineyards around the estate.
