New sustainability report

Lightnet - a pioneer for a sustainable future

With the publication of its latest sustainability report, luminaire manufacturer Lightnet underlines its strong commitment to environmental sustainability and social responsibility. The company's goal is to have a lasting positive impact on the environment and society through forward-looking products and processes. The focus is on the ambitious goal of achieving an emission-free circular economy, in which all products can be fully returned to the economic cycle.

Key points of Lightnet's sustainability strategy:

• Local production: By bundling all production steps at its own site - from LED boards to housings - Lightnet minimises transport emissions and supports an end-to-end sustainable production chain.

• Environmentally friendly LED production: Lightnet relies on 100% water purified production of LED boards, which meets the strictest European environmental standards. A specially developed water treatment plant enables the recovery and reuse of valuable resources.

• Energy from renewable sources: All production energy comes from 100% sustainable sources.

• Smart and flexible production: Lightnet uses state-of-the-art software-controlled systems to optimise its production processes to avoid material waste and at the same time increase production flexibility and speed.

• Sustainable material selection: Lightnet uses environmentally friendly materials, such as aluminium with a low carbon footprint, natural wool from sustainable animal husbandry and green steel, to further underline its ecological responsibility.

• Plastic-free packaging: Lightnet has eliminated plastic from its packaging by 2020. All packaging is produced on demand, with residual materials recycled, resulting in a zero-waste rate.

• Human Centric Lighting: By using this advanced technology, Lightnet not only creates efficient and aesthetically pleasing luminaires, but also makes a significant contribution to the well-being of its customers. The luminaire collection is optionally equipped with full spectrum LEDs, tunable white control and intelligent sensor technology to always provide the right light at the right time.

• Sustainable design and high energy efficiency: Lightnet luminaires are characterised by their durability, timeless design and energy efficiency. They are designed in such a way that they can be fully recycled at the end of their service life.

• Use of alternative materials: Lightnet uses a polycarbonate made from 59% pine oil - a sustainable by-product of the timber industry - to manufacture its opal diffusers.

With its latest sustainability report, Lightnet reaffirms its commitment to an environmentally friendly future and invites customers, partners and the public to become part of this important initiative.
