Parkhotel Egerner Höfe
Light at the edge of the skin
Surrounded by the Bavarian Alps, near the scenic Tegernsee Lake, the Parkhotel Egerner Höfe offers the best one could wish for complete and deep relaxation. In fact, spacious rooms are complemented by the typical services of a 5-star hotel that is part of the prestigious Relais & Châteaux chain, such as the Mangfall spa, swimming pool, wellness room, and finally also the gourmet restaurant with traditional local and regional dishes, which bear the signature of star chef Thomas Kellermann.
The hotel, recently purchased by one of the most prominent families in the area, underwent a major restyling that on the one hand saw its expansion with the wellness area, swimming pool, and the restaurant itself, and on the other hand saw a renovation of the interior.
The goal was to create a continuum between interior and exterior that would give visitors a feeling of well-being and relaxation. For this reason, great attention was paid to the lighting design developed by Zurich-based studio LichtKompetenz, which skillfully mixed natural light with artificial light through the installation of solutions capable of guaranteeing high performance. Such as Linea Light Group's Skin.
Installed outdoors in the metal structure that surrounds the building and acts as a sunshade, Linea Light Group's Skin is an innovative luminaire with IP67, versatile thanks to controlled luminance optics available in different finishes and configurable as a flush-mounted, wall-mounted or ceiling-mounted, semi-recessed or surface-mounted luminaire.
With the aim on the one hand to emphasize the park surrounding the hotel and make it perfectly visible even in the evening hours, and on the other hand to emphasize the lines of the building, Skin was installed along the entire external perimeter, thanks also to its unusual elongated hexagonal shape that allowed its perfect integration into the architecture.
In addition, recessed into the floor, Skin was also used inside, to light the entrance to the hotel's restaurant hall.
